Pin insulators are the oldest insulators in high voltage transmission and distribution lines. Because of its simple manufacture, low cost and easy installation, it can reduce the height of the tower (because the insulator is installed upright and the grounding part is below), it is widely used in high-voltage overhead power lines in ordinary areas and polluted areas with nominal voltage of 6 ~ 35KV and frequency not exceeding 100Hz.
For insulation and support wire. The pin insulator is composed of an insulator and a steel foot. It is a 1 kind of rigid insulator that uses a solid steel foot inside the insulator to rigidly install the insulator on a supporting structure. The insulator can be made of one or more insulating parts permanently connected to each other. The surface is generally brown glaze or white. The fixation of porcelain and feet can be separable or permanent (pin insulator with glued feet)
Insulators are divided into two types according to the structural form: adhesive type and zinc sleeve thread connection type. The glued-on capital piece is directly glued with cement and connected with the foot. The steel foot glued into the porcelain piece is pressed with a deep groove to prevent the steel foot from loosening. The top of the steel foot and the porcelain piece are padded with an elastic liner. The zinc sleeve thread connection type is that the inner hole of the porcelain piece is first glued with a zinc screw sleeve through cement, and then the screw sleeve pattern is connected with the steel foot. The zinc screw sleeve has a buffering effect and is also easy to replace porcelain parts. There are also mechanical connections made by porcelain threads. The old pin type porcelain insulators specified in the GB1000-1981 standard are divided into 5 grades of 6, 10, 15, 20 and 35KV according to the rated voltage. Each type of steel foot is divided into two specifications: iron pole straight foot and wood pole straight foot.
GB/T1000.2-1988 standard specified in the new type of pin type porcelain insulator rated voltage are 10KV, according to the applicable environmental conditions are divided into: ordinary type, reinforced insulation type 1 (in the pollution type) and reinforced insulation type 2 (special pollution type) three.
